Challenging teens
"Katie gave us time and support that helped us through a very difficult time for our family. She supported us through this time, when other professionals didn't appear interested"
PW, Aylesbury
Becoming an adult
"Katie managed to engage with our daughter and give her the space and understanding to talk through her troubles, which helped to make life at home a lot less stressful"

Just Playing games?
‘Theraplay was not really what I expected, I thought that it was going to be really easy after all it is ‘just playing games’ and to be honest I didn’t really see how that was going to help us. The reality was that it was a lot harder than I thought, but it did work; not just in building the attachments within the family, but also through watching how Katie managed different behaviours we developed new skills in being Therapeutic parents.’

Family communication breakdown
"Katie listened, I know this sounds odd, but she really listened. She then helped us to listen to each other, which helped us to understand what we were all trying but failing to communicate to each other"

Parent Coaching
‘Life in our family was pretty out of control. My 8 year old son was becoming increasingly violent and I was feeling more and deskilled and helpless and just seemed to be shouting all the time. The parent coaching support with Katie has given me the space to gain a better understanding of my triggers and those of my child. I also now have a better understanding of how to stay regulated myself so that I can in turn help to regulate my son.
My son and I now have a much better relationship where we can have fun together rather than always being at each other’s throats.’

Struggles with anxiety
‘Our daughter was really struggling with anxiety. She worried about everything from leaving the house to was the dog going to be all right to was she going to have nightmares. Katie taught us about what happens in our minds and bodies when we are anxious and who to then manage this. This gave us the knowledge to then support out child with this once Katie had also taught it to our daughter. It is an ongoing process but we now feel confident in knowing how we can best support our child.’
