Walking Therapy is, what it says on the tin, walking and talking!
Sitting in a Therapy room can be intimidating and quite intense for some people, so walking therapy is the great alternative where you get the chance to walk in the beautiful Chilterns whilst having a therapy session. Walking makes us feel invigorated because it releases endorphins (hormones that give us a high) and serotonin (the ‘happy’ hormone), which combine to provide a ‘natural high’ feeling.
Research shows that exercise can have a significant positive impact on anxiety, stress, anger, blood pressure and depression, while improving overall mood. It is increasingly apparent that walking is not only good for your physical health, but it is good for your mental health too.
